Front-end Web Designer & Developer

Sparkable fosters an environment that is innovative, creative, passionate, and promotes teaching and learning. You’ll work together to solve the technical challenges of our projects. About you, our ideal candidate

• Able to create visual appealing websites, usability testing, the development and implementation of the design of our web platform as well as assisting in the building of new community features
• Strong knowledge of XHTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL AJAX and JavaScript
• Experience with Web standards (w3c), cross-browser compatibility and fixing errors.
• Testing the site for functionality in different browsers, resolutions.
• Producing aesthetically pleasing designs that will be attractive to the target user, has a logical navigation system and incorporates all features required.
• Ensuring that material on the web site is accessible to all groups including those with disabilities.
• Capable of working independently and as a part of a team
• Good sense of humor.
• Understands how to make a solution fit within a deadline.
• Can focus with a little noise around you (we have no cubicles).
• Enjoys both slow and intense environments
• Can give constructive feedback and advice on ideas.

Requirements:

• 1+ years PHP/SQL
• 2+ years XHTML/CSS/JS/AJAX
• Strong design background

Would be nice:

• Experience with a advertising/marketing firm
• Flash knowledge

Backend Web Designer & Developer

Sparkable is looking for a dedicated, hard-working Backend Web Developer to add to our existing development staff. We primarily work in PHP/MySQL.

About you, our ideal candidate

• Able to articulate solutions to complicated problems.
• Have built serious web applications before, not just websites with shopping carts.
• Enjoys working on development projects with other developers.
• Can give constructive feedback and advice on ideas.
• Understands how to make a solution fit within a deadline.
• Don’t mind being put on the spot to solve a pressing problem.
• Good sense of humor.
• Can focus with a little noise around you (we have no cubicles).
• Love learning and are always trying to make yourself a better developer.
• Are a results-oriented person that gets stuff done.
• Capable of working independently and as a part of a team
• Enjoys both slow and intense environments

Requirements:

• 2+ years PHP/Python
• 2+ years SQL
• 2+ years XHTML/CSS/JS
• Web Application Development

Would be nice:

• Experience with cakePHP

We remember our internships of fetching coffee, running errands, and licking envelopes until dawn, and realize that has nothing to do with what has brought us here.
